Music Stream Center’s comprehensive private lesson program combines individual lessons with music lab time, musicianship classes, recitals, Music Teachers’ Association concert opportunities, and various auditions, competitions, master classes, special awards, etc.
We provide a well-rounded music education for students and help them obtain skills that they can use for the rest of their lives. Beyond music and musicianship, students will also learn poise, discipline, goal setting, self-esteem, time management skills, and public presentation skills. We also provide a fun experience for those who want to explore the life-long enjoyment of learning music.
The MSC Program
The MSC Program is designed for more serious students who are interested in taking the Music Teachers’ Association of California Certificate of Merit (CM) exams (for piano, violin, viola, cello, voice, and oboe) and/or the National Piano Guild Auditions. Students have the option to participate recitals, festivals, auditions, master classes, and competitions. They will have the opportunity to earn certificates, ribbons, medals, and trophies from participating in activities.
CM Tutoring Class will help students to prepare for the CM theory test in an effective, interactive, and fun way with an experienced theory teacher. Each class will target a few theory topics with worksheets and/or practice tests. Students will have completed 5 practice tests before their actual testing date. A customized theory book/packet will be provided for each student. This is an optional class to prepare theory and/or technique for the CM exam. Students may sign up for these classes on an "as needed" basis.
If you are not sure which program to sign up for, please ask the student's instructor for guidance.

Focus On Teaching All we do is teach. We do not sell or rent instruments or music. This leaves us free to specialize in one thing - providing the highest quality of music instruction.
University Trained Teachers Our instructors are highly qualified and many have extensive performance experience. Most importantly, our instructors strive to relate their teaching to each individual student's learning style.
All Ages - Beginners to Advanced Our current students range from 2 years old to students in their 60's and 70's. We take care to teach what you want to learn so music is rewarding for students of all ages and levels.
Our unique combination of Private Lessons, Musicianship Class, and Music Lab The private lessons ensure that the student has the undivided attention of the teacher and can progress at a level suited to them individually. The musicianship classes teach theory, ear training, music history, and composition, etc. The music lab promotes total musical growth through computer MIDI technology.
Regular Recitals Recitals are held at least 4 times a year. These provide students with performance experience and build confidence. Participation in music festivals, competitions and workshops are also available.
Audition and Exam Preparation We offer full training in a repertoire, studies, technique, ear training, and sight reading to prepare students for Music Teachers’ Association of California exams, National Piano Guild Auditions, and California Association of Professional Music Teachers exams. We also prepare students for various orchestra or band auditions or to excel in their academic area of interest in music. More information about these programs is available at:
